Shameless bragging but not about knitting
See that giant, shiny trophy? My roadies won it at Saturday's marching band competition! We got "Best Pit Crew" (another term for the folks who get all the props and percussion instruments on and off the field in three minutes flat) out of a total of 13 bands! I am so proud of my roadies! They work hard and give up alot of time on weekends to help the kids.
The kids were so excited; they gave us a huge cheer. That's what makes it all worthwhile: knowing our children appreciate our efforts.
Oh, and I did get one more stripe completed on my Noni Blob.
What's everyone else working on these days? I'll knit vicariously through you guys.

Yeah for the Pit Crew. Those moms and dads work so hard too. I hated loading that truck, once was enough for me, thankfully there were many more dedicated than i was. I was much better at providing snacks and drinks.
Monica, it just proves that everyone has their strengths. I'd much rather load a truck than provide snacks. Vive la difference!
Yay Pit Crew! My dad worked in the pit when my sister was in the marching band.
Congratulations, Nancy. That's a pretty impressive trophy. Nice of them to recognize the folks behind the scenes.
As for what I'm working on -- I finished my FIL's Christmas socks and started on a tunic sweater for myself -- cream colored cotton in a basketweave pattern. Something to keep my hands occupied while I watch the World Series -- Go Rockies!
Congratulations to your roadies!
Congrats to the pit crew!!!
Thanks so much for all the congrats! They're much appreciated. I was completely surprised by the award since I had no idea they even gave one for pit crew. It was a fun moment!
Hey, Cindi, please post a photo of the Christmas socks! I'd love to see them. The Rockies aren't having such a good game tonight, are they? My husband's a Yankees fan so he's rooting for the Rockies too.
SCORE! Nice one hehe!
Yay, Nancy and crew!
I've not been knitting much either because my right hand has cramped up on me and holding a needle sends excruciating shooting up my arm.
Fortunately I've got Dragon Speak and can still write. Some. But what I'm "writing" needs major editing and I'm just now able to type. I'll post a pic of the sweater I designed where I had to stop.
I don't know about the picture of the socks, Nancy. They're navy blue men's socks and photograph really boring, at least to my way of thinking.
Here's hoping the Rockies have a better night tonight!
WTG, Nancy! For a second I thought you'd won the Stanley Cup!! BTW, did you see the article in USA Today last week about the new high-tech hockey skates they're thinking of implementing? Worth tracking down. If I can find the clipping, I'll send it to you.
Thanks, Barbara! I'd love to read the article on the skates. Alas, I think it's highly unlikely that the Stanley Cup will come to New Jersey this season. The Devils seem to be in "re-building mode", sportspeak for "they aren't gonna win alot".
