Touch me by Meunch

So---someone is gifting me with some skeins of Touch Me~  I'm really excited because I have been wanting to try this yarn, but I'm a little anxious about it, too.  I remember there was a post about it here.  What should I be careful of? what can I do so it doesn't worm? Does it get felted when it is finished?  Will two skeins make a narrow long scarf?

Thanks, and HAPPY NEW YEARS!

Caroline

I did a scarf from the book "Scarf Style" and I'm pretty sure it took 5 balls of Touch Me (I wish I had a Touch Me blanket, it is really terrific). The directions at the end of the pattern have you washing the scarf in hot water to felt it and shrink it down a bit and make it even softer...I tink that helps with the worming as I've never had a problem with it.

Oooh, Caroline...you lucky thing. But I think two skeins will get you a pretty short and narrow scarf. What about trying some sort of cowl?

And, as I understand it, the felting process, which makes the yarn turn into something incredibly yummy, makes any worms disappear.

Lucky you!

Here is the url to a pattern for a scarf using 2 balls of Touch Me Yarn. But I must add it also includes a ribbon yarn

Yummmmm. Years ago I knit a simple garter stitch scarf for my lovely mom using two or three skeins of Touch Me. It was so soft and lovely. Enjoy your gift.

I'm jealous that you get to knit with Touch Me! My LYS worker made the Touch Me scarf from Scarf Style, but only knit the center of the pattern so that it took less yarn. Don't be afraid to follow the instructions and wash it. It makes the yarn look like crushed velvet so much so that it looks like an heirloom piece.

I also made the scarf from Scarf Style and I love it. The felting and drying make it look and feel wonderful!
