And You Wonder Why We Call It Deadline Psychosis
Ever wonder how it feels to be a writer who has been up for over 24 hours and is less than 24 pages away from finishing the #@*@(# book?
Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words.
Barbara, over-caffeinated, over-tired, and soooooo close to The End

Jean, thanks for the kind words of support, but right now I just want space aliens to come down, abduct my characters, and take them to a galaxy far, far away!
Barbara - Sympathy, hugs and ready and waiting with the virtual champagne for those two blessed words -- The End! Those last 30 pages or so are always such a mixed blessing for me. I can't wait to get rid of those people, yet I mourn saying goodbye. What's a writer to do?
OMG, I LOVE the graphic! So perfect!
We have confidence in you, Barbara. You've done it before and you can do it again!
Well, it's 8:26 p.m. EDT and the blankety-blank thing still ain't done. I'm so wired from caffeine that I'm bouncing off the walls and so exhausted (from not sleeping [see above]) that I find myself drifting off into one of those stare-at-the-screen-but-you're-really-semiconscious states that seem to be part of deadline psychosis. ACK! Doncha just love writing for a living, Ladies?
(And yes we really do. This is all part of the territory.)
