"Knitting is very conducive to thought. It is nice to knit a while, put down the needles, write a while, then take up the sock again." --Dorothy Day

I love the glasses. Can definitely understand why they are your favorite thing, since they were after all, a gift from your son. My favorite present was probably having time to spend with my husband. We're living apart right now due to the Army and my job. But my second favorite present is my one-cup coffee maker.
Have a great New Year's!
Fantastic gifts, both Fran's and Jill's!
I think my favorite was a framed gift from my sister. It held a matte with cutouts which spelled "Sister" and she had inserted photos of the two of us together from ages a few months (on her part) to the present middle years. It brought back such wonderful memories and reminded me how lucky I've been to have such a close relationship with her throughout our lives.
Jill, please thank your husband for his service. And thank you for supporting him.
Nancy, I'm close to my sister too. She lives in TX and I live in MO. All I can say is thank God for cell phones, which have eliminated our $300+ monthly phone bills.
Two weeks here at the farm with my husband and son - that's been the best gift. I don't get to spend enough time with either. The best package under the tree was the massage gadgets from my daughter - my spine and shoulders thank her.
Fran, Nancy - you're both so fortunate to be close to your sisters. Mine is 16 years younger, and we're just now getting to know one another as adults.
The Harry and David Chocolate Truffles from one of my brothers!
