I'm ranting (a bit) over at the Novelists Inc. blog today. If you have a few moments to spare, please drop by and say hi.

It was wonderful! I love a good rant and this one was one of the best I've read in a long time! Tell'em, Sista!

Thanks, Barbara. That was just the kick in the pants I needed as I wade through the soggy, boggy middle of my current book. Keep at it. Write it. Then rewrite it.

And knitters knit. And painters paint. And those not in ownership of the ability to create or respect their creative ablity, don't.

Nicely worded rant!

Perfect. I've read a lot of Robert A. Heinlein, including some of his writing about writing. If I remember correctly, his theory was that writing to make a living at it required pants glue--sit down and glue the seat of your pants to the seat of the chair and write for 8 hours, just like any other job. I am a knitter/spinner/weaver. I do those things for 8 hours a day--especially if you add in Ravelry where I keep up to date on the latest in the fibery world. Think of it as the Wall Street Journal for fiber folks. ;)
