Feather and Fan-tastic
Here's the feather-and-fan blanket I made for my new great-niece, Violet. It's folded and ready for the box to ship to TX (along with some other sweet baby things).
In case you can't distinguish the colors, it's pink and Violet (actually, it's lavender but we'll use a little poetic license here), with a hint of orange/pink/yellow in it.
Just curious: What's your favorite baby blanket pattern?
Fran

I love a basket weave baby blankie, simple to do but looks intricate. Or maybe a simple bubble stitch, something for the baby to rub as they cuddle.
I don't have a favorite blanket pattern, simply because I need instant (or at least faster) gratification, lol. The one and only time I knit a blanket I ended up deciding that it needed to be a car blanket, and therefore could be smaller ;) Give me an itty bitty baby sweater and I am happy.
I've done a couple of log cabin ones, and a couple of...well, take the "grandmother's favorite" washcloth pattern and make it much, much bigger. And a couple of mitered square ones. I think my favorite was the mitered quare one I did for my now-3-year-old. It's done in Bernat and Red Heart in a traditional green camoflage and the desert sand camoflage colors, set together with sort of a sage green.
The blanket is very pretty.
That is GORGEOUS, Fran! My MIL is a big fan of doing knit then purl blocks, 10 st/10 rows of each. It makes a nice warm one. I don't have a favorite and am prone to just make one up, but yours...ooooooh. I could sure be tempted!
