Weekend From Hell . . . and contest winners
We've been busy since you last saw me.
1. The a/c died again
2. The television died
3. Our downstairs toilet exploded
4. A storm took out one of our big pines
This is not the kind of life I thought a multi-published author lived. Where's my staff? Where are my people? Why were Goldisox and I out there in the front yard with a chainsaw and a dream?
I am 59 years old. I don't like mud, sweat, or hard physical labor. I like to sit in air conditioned comfort and dream lofty thoughts while I knit and watch Who Will Be The Next Food Network Star. I didn't sign up for dragging one hundred pound branches through six inches of mud in a pair of clogs.
What, I ask you, did I do wrong??
And no, I didn't forget about you. I've just been chained to the laptop writing guest posts for the blog tour that kicks off in the morning. I'll keep you posted on what's happening so you can visit (or not) as the spirit moves you. BTW the giveaway will continue through August so if you haven't entered, it's not too late at all. Life doesn't give you lemons for lemonade. It's pelting you with them like dodgeball. I'm sorry and hope things get better soon!
If you didn't live so far away, I'd offer the loan of the hubby to you. He can fix all of that. Maybe slowly, but he *can* do it. In fact, over the past week, he removed 95% of a walnut tree from a neighbor's yard. She also gave him some fresh eggs, and I knit her up a couple of washcloths. I hope it gets better soon!
Oh, Barbara, I'm sorry to hear about all the disasters! The weather here in NJ has been violent, to say the least. There's no such thing as a gentle rain; it only STORMS these days. We keep having to mop up water in our basement because our gutters can't handle what seems like a giant bucket of water being upended over our house on a daily basis.
I keep telling the clouds to go west where the droughts are so terrible but they're not listening so far.
Barbara, be careful out there. I've done my share of clearing fallen trees and it's no fun!
What is it with the weather??? It has been the same here! Crazy storms - flooding - trees uprooted - houses hit by lightning! I've been safe - but, I know others who are not...
Know what you mean, Barbara - I'm an inside gal too - and I don't think I could do all that!
Yikes! When it rains it pours. Hopefully this is the last of the bad things for you all.
Wow, reading about your disasters makes me feel like knitting a pouch to carry my Valium around in! You are overdue for some good luck and fun!!!
