FOs #2 and #3

These are a couple of my knitting projects: a red scarf made from Berroco's Zodiac for my friend and a black scarf from the same yarn for myself. What I'm not showing you is the vest I made (and sent) to my son for his birthday and a baby throw for my soon-to-be niece or nephew. Both turned out beautifully, and I forgot to photograph either of them.

Being an ardent scarf knitter myself, I am lost in admiration of your beautiful FOs. What pattern did you use for the scarves?

Great to see more FOs springing up from the summer!

It's very simple pattern, Nancy. I may have made it up or it may already have existed and was just in my memory bank. Anyway, I was noodling around and came up with it. It should work with any sport weight yarn:

Cast on 26. Knit 2 rows.

Row 1: K1, K2 tog twice, (K1, YO) four times, (K2 tog) four times, (K1, YO) four times, K2 tog twice, K1

Row 2: K

Row 3: K

Row 4: P

Make it as long as you like. End after Row 3.

Knit two rows. Bind off and weave in end.

Janel, the horizontal drop stitch pattern can be found under the name Easy Drop Stitch Scarf Pattern at:

http://christine.typepad.com/knitting

It's a fun pattern for silky or slippery yarn.
