Dang I missed the deadline.
I've been knitting for about 10 years and early on enjoyed knitting in public for the curious stares. I also managed to teach 3 brave people how. (Doctor's waiting rooms are great for that.)
I enjoyed your tomato video. We don't have any red ones yet and with all the cloudly days we might not get any.
Your comment on socks and feeling like you haven't accomplished much knitting really rings true. Think of how many stitches it takes to make one sock and how many it would take to make the front of a sweater.
I've started knitting every third project for me. I found my folder of projects I wanted getting thicker every year. Now I get some pretty stuff too, the folder is getting thinner, (some of the patterns were in there so long they looked ugly!) I get to hear live compliments when I wear them, plus I am very appreciative of all the work involved in knitting. Especially with cables, which I love but always discover a reversed one many rows down while knitting.
So please, go through your patterns and knit something for yourself. You'll love it!
