i gave up years ago. I can go out on the back deck and talk to them as they eat...no budging. I do have one feeder they have not touched yet, though the birds have not touched it either, go figure! Have you seen the new feeder that has a weighted device that spins super quick when it feels the squirrels weight, ditching him off? ( i think it was qvc) too funny!squirrel amusement park!
My last squirrel proof feeder....worked!! When they jumped on the perch ring, an inner cannister would drop down over the openings. Only trouble is....it wasn't bear proof. All I have left is the perch ring and the top. Costly, very costly hobby!

Acrobat squirrel!
My father, who is an engineer and inventor, has been fighting the battle against squirrels in the birdfeeders for years. He has lost every time.

You have to have a sneaking admiration for the wee guy.reminds me of the squirrel in the kids' movie Ice Age.
